Are you between 𝟏𝟔 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝 and living in Lublin? Would you like to meet inspiring people, gain practical skills, and make a real impact on your local community?
This unique programme has been empowering young people to transform their local communities for the past 11 years. This year’s edition will bring together participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds, creating a space for collaboration, mutual learning, and building a local community based on respect, inclusion, and cooperation.
Over the course of 60 hours of inspiring workshops, meetings, and teamwork, you will learn how to organize community events, engage local residents, facilitate social initiatives, and develop projects that genuinely respond to people’s needs. Most importantly, you will work together to design and implement an open community initiative for the residents of Lublin.
The Academy is about 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬. It is an opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds, challenge stereotypes, and build meaningful relationships that demonstrate how diversity can become the greatest strength of a local community.
We invite 20 participants aged 16–25 who live in Lublin, regardless of their country of origin. Whether you come from Ukraine, Norway, Zimbabwe, Iceland, or anywhere else, you are welcome! No previous experience in organizing events or community work is required. All you need is an open mind, curiosity, and a willingness to work together with others.
The programme will conclude with a public event in the city, designed and delivered by the Academy participants for the residents of Lublin. It will be an opportunity to celebrate diversity, connect with the local community, and demonstrate that dialogue and cooperation can truly make a difference.
You will learn:
– learn how to organize community projects and events – from developing an idea, through planning and teamwork, to delivering an initiative for local residents;
– develop your leadership and interpersonal skills, including effective communication, motivating others, teamwork, and collaborative problem-solving;
– build self-confidence and a stronger sense of agency by discovering that you can make a real difference in your community and continue implementing your own ideas after the Academy;
– how to work effectively in a diverse, international team by developing intercultural communication skills and building relationships based on mutual respect and trust;
– gain a deeper understanding of the local community in Lublin and discover opportunities for civic engagement, partnerships, and cooperation with organizations and public institutions;
– expand your knowledge of preventing discrimination, hate speech, and violence by learning how to recognize these issues, respond responsibly, and help create spaces based on respect, dialogue, and inclusion;
– experience how collective action strengthens communities by fostering a sense of belonging, cooperation, and positive social change.
